Eat Like a camping king
COOKING while camping doesn't have to mean living on baked beans and burnt snags.
Author of cookbook Fun, Fast and Fabulous Food Alison Taafe said cooking while camping could be just as easy as cooking at home, if you have the right equipment.
"With a small gas stove you can do almost anything," she said.
"My philosophy is to make as little washing up as possible. I tend to use just one pan for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
"The foil packages are brilliant as they make no mess and can be served as they are."
Mrs Taafe said simple breakfasts could be created by throwing bacon and eggs in the one pan, or cooking up some french toast.
For dinner it was fish wrapped in foil and cooked on the barbecue, marinated steak with salad or even chilli con carne.
"Cous cous is also great as it takes minutes to steam and only needs boiling water," she said.
"And for dessert, take some sliced bananas or sliced strawberries and place them on a square of foil. Then drizzle with maple syrup, top with a knob of butter and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Enclose the parcel and pop it on the barbie for about five minutes. You'll unpack a dessert to die for."
