Alison with the kids from 15 Melbourne during her visit in 2007.
I was invited by Lauren Oliver and Glenn Flood to work alongside the trainees in the 15 kitchen to act as a mentor and to assist with some training while I was in Melbourne in 2007. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I have kept in touch with two fantastic young chefs, Matthew McKenzie (Outback Matty) and Dean Skinner who I give advice to concerning their future directions in this industry.
This experience was my way of giving something small back to this industry which has been very good to me over my career. The 15 charity needs help and support if it is going to survive and is a wonderful foundation to help develop young individuals who need a helping hand in life.
